Information Standards

"Trafficking can occur in many licit and illicit industries or markets, including in brothels, massage parlors, street prostitution, hotel services, hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, janitorial services, construction, health and elder care, and domestic service." (From "...Addressing Human Trafficking of Children and Youth in the United States" report at: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/cb/acyf_human_trafficking_guidance.pdf)  If you oppose human trafficking and don't want your children or loved ones trafficked for sex or labor, don't entrust their care to out-of-home placements and be careful not to let traffickers provide in-home care or services.  Also see: https://www.heal-online.org/avoidscams.pdf

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO PLACE LOVED ONES IN OUT-OF-HOME SETTINGS AS A RESULT OF RAMPANT MODERN SLAVERY AND TRAFFICKING FOR SEX AND LABOR IN THOSE INDUSTRIES PROVIDING SUCH "SERVICES" AND IN-HOME CARE NEEDS TO BE THOROUGHLY VETTED, MONITORED, AND DISMISSED IF USING ANY MACHIAVELLIAN TECHNIQUES TO DEHUMANIZE AND CONTROL THOSE BEING "SERVED".

ATTN: ALL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES ARE DE FACTO REGULATORS AS CONSUMERS OF ANY SERVICES OR PRODUCTS.  ALL REGULATORY AGENCIES RELY ON DIRECT VICTIMS AND FIRSTHAND WITNESS STATEMENTS REGARDING VIOLATIONS TO GET PROBABLE CAUSE FOR AN INVESTIGATION AND ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTION NEEDED.  WHEN YOU DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE REGULATORY PROCESS, VIOLATORS GET AWAY WITH IT WHEN YOU ARE THE VICTIM OR WITNESS AND FAIL TO REPORT IN A TIMELY FASHION.  PLEASE CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR ROLE AS A REGULATOR.

PARENT SUPPORT NETWORK

HEAL Mission is a network of volunteer advocates, including parents who've been defrauded by the Teen Behavior Modification Industry (i.e. Wilderness Programs, Wilderness Camps, Residential Treatment Centers, Therapeutic/Emotional Growth Boarding Schools, Boot Camps, etc.).  We are families and professionals (including medical and mental health professionals, educators, lawyers, and civil servants).  We are here to help.

The teen years have always been a struggle for both young adults and parents alike.  Teens have always taken action to establish autonomy and independence and parents have always had difficulty balancing discipline, responsibility, and respect.  HEAL offers an emancipation guide to aid you and loved ones as you or they transition to independent living.  You can view this guide by clicking here.

We have many parent volunteers that can help you figure out how to rescue your child if your child has been placed in a behavior modification program.  Whether you currently have legal custody or not, we may be able to help you.  Our parent volunteers are:

Cathy Smith, Coordinator

[email protected]

Catherine Smith Parent of a Provo Canyon School survivor.  [email protected]
Helen Taylor Parent of a Provo Canyon School survivor. [email protected]
Susan Smith Parent of Circle of Hope/IFB survivor [email protected]

Most, if not all, behavior modification programs use similar deceptive marketing techniques and abusive and secretive/cult-like practices.  While our volunteers may not have experience with the particular program you are investigating and/or from which you wish to rescue your child, we can give you firsthand information on how rescues were achieved from other programs and advise you on why or how the program your child is in is like those with whom we have firsthand experiences.

We also have a legal help page at https://www.heal-online.org/legal.htm.  If you need legal help in rescuing your child, please review the resources available at this page.

If you are looking to comment on something unrelated to parenting or fraudulent and abusive programs, please visit here.

We ask that you respect that our mission and church does not and will not condone, recommend, or refer to residential programs or services.  We are here to help you make the smart choice and keep your child at home and/or in your local community.  We will not debate this issue.  We have overwhelming evidence that this industry is fraudulent, abusive, torturous, corrupt, and often deadly.  We will not condone or recommend risking any child or young adult's well-being by placing them in a private, unregulated prison under the complete control of strangers.  It is traumatic and psychologically harmful.  If you want our help, please contact us.
