Drug Companies Funding Wellspring Academies (Source: dmaa.org, October 21st, 2005)
Wellspring Academies are Aspen Education Group programs.  Thomas J. Croke, Educational Consultant, has denounced Aspen Education Group for putting profits over the safety and care of children in Aspen programs.
HEAL has reviewed multiple Aspen Education Group contracts that appear to be illusory, unconscionable, void/voidable, and arguably illegal.  We are in the process of reviewing the enrollment materials for Wellspring Academies.  In the meantime, please see the reviews for Adirondack Leadership Expeditions, Aspen Achievement Academy, Aspen Ranch, Aspen Institute of Behavioral Assessment, and New Leaf Academy.  It is our suggestion that families avoid doing business with Aspen Education Group and/or their individual programs.
"All Wellspring Academy campuses along with all Weight Loss Camps in the U.S., Canada and the UK closed permanently in January 2014 due to the economic downturn, the lack of insurance coverage availability and the inability of families to pay for the treatment program. In 2015 one for the former directors of the California facility opened up a similar program in Arizona for girls only entitled Gem Academy."  Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellspring_Academies  Gem Academy is open, but, private schools (including boarding schools) in Arizona are completely unregulated and do not have to be accredited as a matter of law in Arizona.  So, due diligence matters.
