HEAL Received E-mail Tip that Eagle Valley Youth Ranch may still be operating and using it's "students" as slave labor. Tip reads in part: "I noticed that they program is said to be shutdown now, as it’s listed under Bryce Pioneer Village. During the time I was there girls who showed "good behavior” like myself we’re lucky enough to clean the toilets and hotel rooms at Bryce Pioneer Village for tourists. To me, it seems like it’s a front for the program." We will investigate this lead as soon as possible. Please contact us with any information showing that Eagle Valley Youth Ranch is still open or re-opened. E-mail [email protected] with any information. Thank you! | ||
UPDATE: Eagle Valley Youth Ranch's listed phone number is (435)679-8336. That number has been disconnected. The reporting survivor in the above tip description stated that Bryce Pioneer Village was where higher level inmates were put to work as slave labor. Bryce Pioneer Village and Eagle Valley Youth Ranch operate(d) at the exact same location of 80 S. Main, Tropic, UT. The number for Bryce Pioneer Village is (435) 679-8546. HEAL representatives called Bryce Pioneer Village at the number provided and asked if it was also the number for Eagle Valley Youth Ranch. The man who answered said it was not. Based on the information we have, we believe Eagle Valley Youth Ranch to be closed and that the owners of Bryce Pioneer Village are no longer operating a treatment center at this location. Travis LeFevre is listed as the owner and registered agent of Bryce Pioneer Village. He is/was also the owner of Eagle Valley Youth Ranch. Source: https://secure.utah.gov/bes/details.html?entity=9457182-0142# At this time, HEAL is satisfied that Eagle Valley Youth Ranch is closed. Bryce Pioneer Village claims to be a hotel and recreational campsite only at this time. |
