CLEAN ADVENTURES INITIAL REPORT: HEAL has placed Clean Adventures on our watch-list after receiving complaints and information regarding crossover staff with confirmedly abusive programs involving Justin and Erin Bachman, namely Gatehouse Academy and Canyon Crossing Recovery. Clean Adventures Of Sober Living LLC in Prescott, AZ is licensed solely as an outpatient treatment provider and is not licensed to provide 24 hour supervised treatment. It is not certified through Medicaid or any other nationally recognized certification agency. It holds no other licenses in AZ and is not a licensed drug rehabilitation residential or wilderness program. Source: http://azdhs.gov/documents/licensing/databases/MEDICAL_LIST.pdf. It is accredited by the Joint Commission, but, to understand HEAL's concerns regarding why that accreditation is not as impressive as it may seem, see: http://www.heal-online.org/jointcommission.pdf The Joint Commission profits up to $40,000 per program per year by charging fees to the programs (i.e. Clean Adventures) for their continued "accreditation". This creates a conflict of interest for the Commission in regards to providing effective oversight. In addition, the Joint Commission relies on self-assessment and self-correction on the part of organizations it accredits which is also an absurd measure and certainly not the mark of an objective oversight board, agency, or committee. HEAL would advise against enrolling anyone in this program at this time. |
