Larry Bauer Founder Bauer also ran/runs Glacier Mountain Academy, formerly known as Glacier Mountain Expeditions.  Glacier Mountain Academy lost it's license in Idaho.  "GLACIER MOUNTAIN ACADEMY. The Consumer Protection Unit investigated consumer complaints regarding a private school operating in Northern Idaho. The complaints stated that Glacier Mountain Academy advertised services and facilities that it did not provide and refused to refund tuition when children were removed from the school. The CPU entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with Glacier Mountain that required the business to correct its advertising practices. "GLACIER MOUNTAIN ED. SERVICES TROUBLE "
"(March 10, 2002)  Susan Drumheller reported about Glacier Mountain Educational Services, Cocolalla, Idaho, owned and operated by John Baisden, in the Spokesman-Review on Feb. 23, 2002 and March 10, 2002. Her article stated their foster care license has been revoked by the state Department of Health and Welfare. Bonner County filed a complaint that his facility has been operating without a conditional use permit, and it is under investigation by the Attorney General for false advertising and by the Bonner County Prosecutor for failure to report a crime."

Turning Winds is NOT Licensed in Montana.  HEAL checked with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services and found that Turning Winds is NOT licensed as any of the following and therefore not licensed to provide services claimed:

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Chemical Dependency Transitional Living Center.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Community Home for Persons with Developmental Disabilities.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as an Inpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment Center.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Long-Term Care Facility.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Mental Health Center.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as an Outdoor Behavioral Program.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Residential Treatment Facility.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Specialty Mental Health Facility.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Therapeutic Youth Group Home.

Turning Winds is NOT licensed as a Youth Group Home.

Turning Winds is NOT a licensed Youth Shelter Care provider.
