Tom Ostrander Instructor In 2007, Mr. Ostrander went to work for Aspen Education at Four Circles Recovery Center.  Ostrander joined Stone Mountain in 2009.  Ostrander no longer appears to work for this program.

Jeremy Poore Field Director As one of the first instructors at SUWS of the Carolinas and Phoenix Outdoor programs, he had the ability to co-create both programs from the ground up.  Poore no longer appears to work for this program.
Christina Stang Field Instructor Stone Mountain School in March of 2009, she worked as a field instructor with the Phoenix Outdoor Program.  Stang no longer appears to work for this program.
Julie Webb Logistics Julie worked at Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center for three years.  In January of 2001, Julie joined Stone Mountain School as a Program Counselor.
Nathan Weil Logistics Nathan Weil started working at Stone Mountain School in January 2008.
Micah Wheat Supervisor

Micah Wheat first got into the Wilderness Therapy Field with SUWS of the Carolinas in 2002. He has worked for two other Aspen Education Group companies as well; Adirondack Leadership Expeditions and his current employer Stone Mountain School where he is a Field Supervisor. Micah has also worked for two non-profit organizations that serve similar populations in the Western North Carolina Region. Prior to his experiences in the therapeutic aspects, Micah was an Adventure Staff for Camp Rockmont in Swannanoa, NC for 4 years. *

Stone Mountain School is an Aspen Education Group program.  Thomas J. Croke, Educational Consultant, has denounced Aspen Education Group for putting profits over the safety and care of children in Aspen programs.
HEAL has reviewed multiple Aspen Education Group contracts that appear to be illusory, unconscionable, void/voidable, and arguably illegal.  We are in the process of reviewing the enrollment materials for Stone Mountain School.  In the meantime, please see the reviews for Adirondack Leadership Expeditions, Aspen Achievement Academy, Aspen Ranch, Aspen Institute of Behavioral Assessment, and New Leaf Academy.  It is our suggestion that families avoid doing business with Aspen Education Group and/or their individual programs.
