"A money making machine interested in taking girls from upper middle class families that have some typical teenage difficulties and duping their parents into shipping them off for big money. Then, overcharging them for education, lodging and meals all while doing everything to keep the numbers up. E.g. Director Betsy Warren frequently stated that students should not be allowed to do work, even while getting A's and B's as their parents would then take them out and our numbers would drop.

UPDATE: On February 6th, 2020 HEAL volunteers found the article here https://strugglingteens.com/artman/publish/PoncaPinesAcademyBN_120614.shtml stating that this program closed in 2012.  We followed up by visiting the website poncapinesacademy.org and found it no longer exists.  We feel this is efficient confirmation that the program is closed.
